  • How and where to donate eyes?

    To donate your eyes sign up in our eye bank. You can fill up the form given below to donate your eyes.

  • Who can donate eyes?

    Anybody, irrespective of age, gender, blood group, caste, or creed can donate eyes. If you have healthy eyes during the time of passing away, your eyes will be suitable for corneal transplantation.

    Donated corneas from people suffering from AIDS, Tetanus, Rabies, Syphilis, and Septicaemia aren’t used for corneal transplantation. In such cases, eye doctors use the donated eyes for medical researches.

  • When will the eyes be removed from the donor for transplantation?

    The team will remove and store your eyes after you pass away. It is important to remove the eyes within 4 to 6 hours after the donor passes away.

  • Where are the donated eyes stored?

    Your eyes will be safely stored in the eye bank you’ve chosen. The teams at eye banks ensure high medical safety with the donor’s eyes so that there’s no complication during the transplantation.

  • Why is it important for everybody to donate eyes?

    From medical science perspective, the donated corneas are of high value as they are natural and can be transplanted to patients with corneal diseases and restore their vision. There are artificial, laboratory-designed corneas but currently come nowhere close to being a good alternative to natural corneas. As of now, the success rate of using artificial corneas is low. Plus, artificial corneas have a high price.
