Vision 20/10. Technology innovations for the superlative.
From vision rehabilitation to vision enhancement.
From palliation to useful restoration of sight in dreaded disease.
From blinding aftermaths to early detection and prevention.
The path forwards is a turn.
It is not capacity building but an invitation towards healthy and more efficient vision.
A difficult area because it is not a dis-ease.
Dis-ease is what brings the patient to us.
So we have to hunt pre disease so that we can prevent it
We have to propose vision enhancement to an otherwise normal community.
The strong traditional word of mouth spread of newer options is becoming a weaker tool with urbanization
We have started living in a nuclear family in a bigger world.
The way forward is mass communication — information marketing.
Affordability with the growing economy is changing and percolating deep down.
There is every reason to evaluate affordability everyday.
People are becoming more used to bright hospitalities than old green humane hospitals.
Our previous success stories should not drown us by underestimating the community’s ability to pay.
Time is becoming more unaffordable.
We must go to their doorsteps with all that we communicate in the media
Out step is going to become a very important component.
Quality is central to the future areas of vision enhancement and prevention because we are not treating frank disease but tinkering on rather healthy eyes.
The stakes are high and rewards excellent but there is no room for error.
We have to be right everytime.
Mass communications, Mass scale and technology extravaganza have connotation of ‘hype’.
‘A hype’ to sell and profit which is quiet prevalent in today’s corporate world where media plans overtake factories.
Though things that money can buy is increasing everyday, we cannot sell health care.
We will prefer to pay for better options but we will continue to understand that we cannot buy health.
As the insurance sector treats health as an unplanned expenditure and converts this into a planned one they will do good to the community and to themselves, but if they try to become financial managers to the health industry they will loose the trust from all ends.
The largest eye care hospital in the East, confers to us the largest responsibility. We have to see that we right step innovations, the media, the outreach and give the best translations to the community.
I am sure, a happy organization committed honestly to earning resources and propagating them in the right ‘disha’ can always do it efficiently.
Yours in vision
